Our story

SmoQue Shack is an iconic Ottawa barbecue restaurant known for its slow-smoked meats and authentic flavors. Established in 2011 at 129 YORK Street in the ByWard Market district, it quickly gained popularity thanks to its commitment to quality and authentic barbecue.

In 2020, after nearly nine years in business, the restaurant closed its doors in the ByWard Market. However, the spirit of the SmoQue Shack lived on. It continued to operate through locations within BEYOND THE PALE, Senate Taverns LOCATIONS in Ottawa. Additionally, a new location was established at 73 de la Gappe Boulevard in Gatineau, expanding its presence in the National Capital Region.

SmoQue Shack is also known for its catering service and food truck, bringing its smoked delicacies directly to events and gatherings. Their menu features dishes such as tender brisket, juicy pulled pork, and signature ribs, all prepared with passion and dedication.

Today, the SmoQue Shack continues to delight local barbecue lovers, offering a warm and flavorful dining experience that brings together friends, family, and flavors.
